The split-coil P-element provides the thick, assertive fundamental tone for which the P-bass is known, while the J-element at the bridge opens up the high end. The North American alder body keeps the whole thing tight and balanced.

Wider nut and stainless steel frets

The neck features the New Gen C-profile with Edgeless™ rounded fretboard edges and 2.4mm stainless steel frets. The nut is slightly wider than on a jazz bass at 42mm, which makes the string spacing at the headstock a bit more generous — pleasant for fingerstyle playing.

Heritage-3 preamp with mini-toggle

The Marcus Heritage-3 preamp controls treble, mid with adjustable mid-frequency, and bass. Unlike the V-models, there is a separate mini-switch for active and passive, so you can switch without your settings changing. All controls are under aluminum knobs.

Specifications

Brand: Sire

Model: P7N A4

Series: Marcus Miller P7 New Gen

Type: Electric 4-string bass guitar

Body wood: North American alder

Body shape: Sire P-model

Neck: Hard maple

Neck profile: C-profile (New Gen)

Neck joint: Four-bolt neck joint with steel plate

Fretboard: Hard maple with Edgeless™ rounded edges

Fretboard radius: 9.5 inches

Inlays: Black block inlays

Fretboard binding: Black, 1-ply

Frets: 2.4 mm medium

Fret material: Stainless steel

Scale length: 34 inches

Nut: Bone, 42 mm wide

Pickups: Marcus Super-PJ Revolution set

Electronics: Marcus Heritage-3 active preamp with mid-frequency control

Controls: Volume/tone (dual pot), blend, treble, mid/mid-frequency (dual pot), bass, mini-toggle active/passive

Knobs: Black aluminum knobs

Bridge: Marcus Miller Modern-S

Bridge string spacing: 20 mm

Tuning machines: Premium lightweight open gear

Hardware: Chrome

Pickguard: Black, 3-ply

Color: Sunshine Yellow

Orientation: Right-handed
