The North American alder body provides an open, balanced fundamental tone with a tight attack and a clearly defined low end. The New Gen version has been updated in many respects: a revised neck profile, stainless steel frets, and lighter hardware for better balance on the strap.

Edgeless™ neck with stainless steel frets

The neck features the new C-profile with Edgeless™ rolled fingerboard edges, allowing the hand to glide over it without sharp transitions. With a 34-inch scale and a 9.5-inch fingerboard radius, the bass plays familiarly, while the 2.4 mm stainless steel frets show hardly any wear and allow for smooth bending.

Marcus Heritage-3 with mid-frequency control

The Marcus Super-J Revolution pickups are amplified by the Marcus Heritage-3 preamp. In addition to treble and bass, it has a mid-control with adjustable mid-frequency, which allows you to sculpt the bass from a classic transparent jazz sound to a full, present midrange. The bass control functions as a push-pull switch: pulling it out sets the bass to passive, so you can continue playing even without a battery.

Specifications

Brand: Sire

Model: V7N A4

Series: Marcus Miller V7 New Gen

Type: Electric 4-string bass guitar

Body Wood: North American Alder

Body Shape: Marcus Miller Jazz Model (New Gen)

Neck: Hard Maple

Neck Profile: C-Shape (New Gen)

Neck Joint: Four-bolt neck joint with steel plate

Fingerboard: Ebony with Edgeless™ rolled edges

Fingerboard Radius: 9.5 inches

Inlays: White pearloid block inlays

Fingerboard Binding: Ivory, 1-ply

Frets: 2.4 mm medium

Fret Material: Stainless steel

Scale Length: 34 inches

Nut: Bone, 38 mm wide

Pickups: Marcus Super-J Revolution set

Electronics: Marcus Heritage-3 active preamp with mid-frequency control

Controls: Volume/Tone, Blender, Treble, Middle/Mid-frequency, Bass (push-pull for passive)

Knobs: Plastic J-bass knobs in black (New Gen)

Bridge: Marcus Miller Modern-S

String Spacing Bridge: 20 mm

Tuners: Premium lightweight open gear

Hardware: Chrome

Pickguard: Black, 3-ply

Color: Tobacco Sunburst

Orientation: Right-handed
