The SX SMA660EVS is an electro-acoustic A-style mandolin with a solid spruce top and a built-in piezo pickup. This allows you to play the instrument both fully acoustically and connected to an acoustic amplifier, mixer, or audio interface.

The compact A-style body has a classic, symmetrical shape without the ornate scroll of an F-style mandolin. The high-gloss Vintage Sunburst finish and the flamed okoume of the body give the instrument a warm and traditional look.

Solid Spruce Top

The solid spruce top provides a bright attack, good definition, and a lively response. The flamed okoume of the sides and the arched back add warmth and depth to the sound.

This wood combination makes the SMA660EVS suitable for various music styles, including folk, bluegrass, country, and traditional acoustic music. Both chords and fast melodic lines remain clearly audible.

Piezo Pickup with Volume and Tone Control

The piezo pickup in the bridge registers the natural vibrations of the mandolin. With the built-in volume and tone control, you can easily adjust the amplified sound to the playing space, amplifier, or band mix.

This makes the SMA660EVS a practical choice for musicians who want to play amplified during rehearsals and performances without having to use a separate mandolin microphone.

Comfortable and Sturdily Built

The nato neck features a rosewood fretboard with 21 nickel frets. The 350 mm scale length and approximately 28 mm nut width ensure a familiar playing feel. A bone nut and rosewood bridge contribute to a direct transfer of string vibrations.

The chrome tuning machines allow for precise tuning. Thanks to the adjustable truss rod, the neck angle can be adjusted for comfortable string height and reliable playability.

Specifications

Brand: SX

Model: SMA660EVS

Series: SMA Series

Type: electro-acoustic mandolin

Body Shape: A-style

Top: solid spruce

Back and Sides: flamed okoume

Back: arched

Neck: nato

Fretboard: rosewood

Bridge: rosewood

Scale Length: 350 mm (13 3/4 inch)

Nut Width: approx. 28 mm

Nut: bone

Number of Frets: 21

Frets: nickel

Position Markers: white dots

Truss Rod: adjustable

Pickup: piezo pickup in the bridge

Controls: volume and tone

Tuning Machines: chrome

Strings: phosphor bronze

Finish: high-gloss

Color: Vintage Sunburst
