Unlike the C414's dual-diaphragm technology, the C214 features a single-diaphragm capsule and is thus fixed to the cardioid polar pattern. The AKG C214 Stereo Set offers professional users a complete and perfect solution for excellent stereo recordings. For this purpose, the sound characteristics of each AKG C214 are determined by measurement. A sophisticated computer algorithm is used to select perfect microphone pairs that have the highest possible match across the entire frequency range and virtually identical sensitivities.
