The AKG D112 MKII is a dynamic large-diaphragm microphone for bass drum and bass. It handles sound pressure levels up to 160 dB without distortion. The large-diaphragm capsule ensures a powerful transmission of low frequencies below 100 Hz. For the necessary punch, the frequency at 4 kHz was raised slightly. Even without additional EQ, the AKG D112 MKII asserts itself in even the densest mix. The microphone convinces with the lowest noise values thanks to the hum compensation coil. This also makes it insensitive to electromagnetic interference.
The AKG D112 MKII is suitable for use in the studio and on live stages. In addition to bass drum, it can also be used for miking trombones and bass cabinets.
The Mk II version of the AKG D112 has a new tripod mount with a flexible joint that allows the microphone to be optimally aligned. Its proverbial robustness has made it a classic.
