The AKG D5 is a dynamic vocal microphone for live use. Despite the quite wide pickup angle, the AKG D5 C is very resistant to feedback. A unique feature is AKG's patented Varimotion diaphragm. It ensures a balanced sound and excellent speech intelligibility.
Unlike normal microphones, the diaphragm has different thicknesses. The thicker center allows the microphone to tolerate very high sound pressure. The thin edge of the diaphragm, on the other hand, produces powerful bass. Vocals and speech thus assert themselves optimally even under very loud stage conditions.
Grip noise is effectively prevented by the elastic capsule mount. For tough stage use, the robust all-metal housing and spring steel basket provide the best possible protection.
