At only 19.4 kg, the JBL PRX812W is a very lightweight front and monitor speaker. The integrated bi-amp power amplifier module includes two 750 watt amplifiers as well as a DSP with all controller functions. These can be individually configured via Wi-Fi and the PRX Connect app. A maximum sound pressure of 135 dB peak is generated. The EQ setting can be switched from 'Front' to 'Monitor' depending on the application.
Other features include two inputs, each with XLR, jack and RCA connectors, and a switchable output to XLR for routing the input signal. The input sensitivity is switchable from Mic to Line.
Due to the double stand flange, the M10 mounting points as well as the multifunctional housing shape, a suitability for both front PA and monitor systems is given. The low weight of the JBL PRX812W is due to a combination of specially designed neodymium tweeter driver, differential drive woofers and the very efficient digital Class-D power amplifier circuit.
The cabinet is made of sturdy multiplex wood and covered with JBL's durable DuraFlex paint finish. The front grille is made of powder-coated steel as well as backed with acoustically transparent fabric. It effectively protects the components from mechanical impact.
In combination with a subwoofer of the JBL PRX800W series, the JBL PRX812W can be ideally operated as a satellite on a stand rod.
