The NUX DM-8 is a comprehensive electronic drum kit for drummers seeking a realistic playing feel and professional recording capabilities. The large REMO mesh pads, free-standing snare, and moving hi-hat create a natural setup that closely resembles an acoustic drum kit.

The complete configuration consists of a 12-inch snare, three 10-inch toms, a 10-inch kick pad, a 12-inch hi-hat, two 12-inch crashes, and a 14-inch ride. A separate snare stand, hi-hat stand, and bass drum pedal are included.

REMO mesh heads with accurate triggering

The snare, toms, and kick are equipped with REMO mesh heads. These offer a natural rebound and produce significantly less acoustic sound than traditional drum heads. The tension can be adjusted to match your personal playing preference.

The 12-inch snare supports three playing zones for head, rim, and rimshot techniques. The 10-inch toms are dual-zone, allowing the rims to be used separately. The free-standing snare can also be placed in a familiar acoustic playing position.

Realistic hi-hat and extensive cymbal configuration

The 12-inch hi-hat is placed on a standard hi-hat stand and thus moves in a similar way to an acoustic cymbal. The sensor registers different pedal positions for closed, half-open, and open hi-hat sounds.

With two 12-inch crashes and a 14-inch three-zone ride, you have plenty of cymbals for elaborate parts. The ride responds separately to the bow, edge, and bell, while the crash cymbals support a choke function.

DM-8 module with 30 drum kits and custom samples

The DM-8 module includes 30 preset drum kits and space for 18 user-compiled kits. The internal library contains approximately 300 drum and percussion sounds that can be assigned per pad and playing zone.

Via a USB stick, you can import up to 100 of your own WAV samples, with a total storage capacity of up to 100 MB. This allows you to build drum kits with your own kicks, snares, effects, and percussion sounds.

Effects and direct control

For individual pads, EQ, compression, overdrive, and reverb are available. Additionally, master EQ and master compression can be applied to the complete mix.

The physical Group Faders provide direct control over the volume of different parts of the drum kit. This allows you to quickly adjust the balance during a rehearsal, recording, or performance.

Up to fourteen individual audio tracks via USB

The DM-8 module functions as a USB audio and MIDI interface for Mac and Windows computers. Via a single USB connection, you can record up to fourteen individual audio tracks directly into a compatible DAW. This allows the various drums and cymbals to be edited separately during mixing.

The module can also send MIDI data, allowing you to control virtual drum instruments and other music software. For simple recordings, you can save your drumming directly as a WAV file on a USB stick.

Practice with music and coach functions

Via Bluetooth Audio or the AUX input, you can wirelessly or wired play along with music from a phone, tablet, or other audio player. Built-in songs and a metronome help with practicing timing and various music styles.

The coach functions include Accents, Time Check, Quiet Count, and Change Up. These help you train timing, rhythm, dynamics, and switching between different rhythmic subdivisions, among other things.
