All-solid F-style mandolin with a rich sound. The SX SMF860VS is a fully solid-built F-style mandolin with a carved spruce top and a solid mahogany back and sides. This high-quality wood construction ensures a lively response, warm sound, and good projection.The distinctive F-style scroll, traditional f-holes, and glossy Vintage Sunburst finish give the mandolin a classic look. White binding, black-and-white purfling, and mother-of-pearl inlays complete the refined design.
Solid spruce and solid mahogany
The carved and arched solid spruce top provides clarity and definition. The solid mahogany sides and carved arched back add warmth and depth. This allows both powerful chords and fast melody lines to sound full and clear.
These tonal characteristics make the SMF860VS suitable for bluegrass, folk, country, and traditional acoustic music. Thanks to the use of solid woods, the instrument can also further develop as it is played more often.
Comfortable and precise to play
The mahogany neck features a rosewood fingerboard with 29 nickel frets. The 350 mm scale length and 28.6 mm nut width offer the familiar playing feel of a traditional mandolin.
The F-style tuners have a precise gear ratio of 1:18. In combination with the bone nut, rosewood bridge, and phosphor bronze strings, this ensures stable tuning and a direct transfer of string vibrations.
Includes padded gig bag
The SX SMF860VS comes with a padded denim gig bag. This allows the mandolin to be easily and safely transported to lessons, rehearsals, jam sessions, and performances.
