I Love the 207 was composed in February 2010 for the Osumi Symphonic Band from Kyoto, Japan. This orchestra premiered the piece on April 25, 2010, under the direction of conductor Masanori Ozaki. The work begins with an introduction that presents the instruments, followed by a light scherzo. The title refers to the 207 series commuter train of the West Japan Railway Company. When the orchestra began, the 207 series trains also started running through the fields next to the building where rehearsals were held. The composer hopes that the trains will continue to run to the satisfaction of the people who use them.
