The strings on the RD-12 can be set nice and low, making it easy to play even for beginners. Additionally, the RD-12's oil-bath tuners keep it in tune well.

The RD-12 has a spruce top and linden wood back and sides. The silver/nickel fretwork on the hardwood fretboard is wear-resistant and designed for long-lasting playing pleasure.

The Richwood RD-12 is available in various finishes: natural, sunburst, blue sunburst, red sunburst, and black. In all these colors, the RD-12 is also available with a cutaway and electronics. It is also available left-handed, in black and sunburst (possibly also with a cutaway and electronics).
