P-bass with extra J-pickup

The Sire Marcus Miller P7 New Gen combines the character of a classic Precision Bass with the clarity of a Jazz Bass. The split-coil P-pickup provides the thick, assertive fundamental tone that the P-bass is known for, while the J-pickup at the bridge opens up the high end. The North American alder body keeps the whole thing tight and balanced.

This is the left-handed version: the body, neck, and electronics are mirrored, making the bass as comfortable for left-handed players as the right-handed model.

Wider nut and stainless steel frets

The neck features the New Gen C-profile with Edgeless™ rolled fingerboard edges and 2.4mm stainless steel frets. The nut, at 42mm, is slightly wider than on a Jazz Bass, which provides a bit more string spacing at the headstock — comfortable for fingerstyle playing.

Heritage-3 preamp with mini-toggle

The Marcus Heritage-3 preamp controls treble, mid with adjustable mid-frequency, and bass. Unlike the V-models, there is a separate mini-switch for active and passive, allowing you to switch modes without changing your settings. All controls are under aluminum knobs.
