The North American alder body provides a warm and balanced tone, and the pickups are positioned at the classic '70s spacing: further apart than the standard version, which gives the bridge pickup a tighter and sharper character.

Vintage 7.25 inch radius with narrow frets

The neck follows the vintage recipe: a 7.25-inch fretboard radius and narrow 2.0 mm frets, for a total of 20 frets. This provides the round, old-school playing feel that many bassists seek. The Edgeless™ rolled fretboard edges and the New Gen C-profile make the neck much more comfortable than the original.

Marcus Vintage-J pickups with Heritage-3 preamp

The Marcus Vintage-J Revolution pickups are combined with the simplified Marcus Heritage-3 preamp without a separate mid-frequency control. This keeps the controls clear: volume/tone, blender, treble/mid, and bass. The bass control also acts as the active/passive switch — pull it out, and the bass operates fully passively.
