The North American alder body provides a warm and balanced tone, and the pickups are spaced at the classic '70s distance: further apart than the standard model, which gives the bridge pickup a tighter and sharper character.

Vintage 7.25-inch Radius with Narrow Frets

The neck follows the vintage recipe: a 7.25-inch fretboard radius and narrow 2.0 mm frets, totaling 20 frets. This provides the round, old-school playing feel many bassists seek. However, the Edgeless™ rolled fretboard edges and the New Gen C-profile make the neck much more comfortable than the original.

Marcus Vintage-J Pickups with Heritage-3 Preamp

The Marcus Vintage-J Revolution pickups are paired with the simplified Marcus Heritage-3 preamp, which omits a separate mid-frequency control. This keeps the controls straightforward: volume/tone, blender, treble/mid, and bass. The bass knob also doubles as the active/passive switch — pull it out and the bass operates completely passively.
