Andrea Bocelli and Marco Borsato had met each other several times when they came up with the idea of recording something together. In early 2006, they sang the beautiful duet "Because We Believe" in Bocelli's studio in Italy. The song was written by David Foster, who had previously been responsible for the successes of other global stars, such as Céline Dion, Lionel Richie, Madonna, and Michael Bublé. "Because We Believe" owes its fame to Andrea Bocelli's solo performance during the closing ceremony of the Winter Olympics in Turin on February 26, 2006. In several European countries, this song topped the charts for weeks.
