Dezaire: Violin Position 2

Dezaire: Violin Position 2 is a practical and musical introduction to the second position for violinists who already have some experience in the first position. The book directly builds on that foundation; knowledge of the third position is not necessary to start this volume.

The method contains 12 technical exercises and 27 pieces in various styles. Students will work on the whole-whole-half finger pattern on individual strings and on combinations of adjacent strings. The final piece combines all strings. Elementary position changes are also covered.

The online demo and play-along tracks support learning the pieces and help with tempo, rhythm, and intonation. Additionally, piano accompaniments are available, so the material can also be used effectively in lessons or for ensemble playing.
