In the summer of 2010, Dirk Brossé was appointed music director and principal conductor of The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia. During the inaugural concert in September of that same year, Brossé gave a musical gift to the city that would embrace him for the next ten years: Philadelphia, an American Overture. In this work, which is dedicated to the city and its four million inhabitants, we hear the vitality and energy of vibrant and multicultural Philadelphia – The City of Brotherly Love.
