Electro-Harmonix EHX PERCOLATOR – fuzz pedal

The EHX Percolator is a versatile fuzz/overdrive pedal inspired by a legendary 70s design, adding modern controls for a wide range of extreme and dynamic sounds.

The pedal's core lies in asymmetric clipping that emphasizes even-order harmonics, resulting in an interactive, playing dynamics-sensitive tone. From subtle, warm overdrive to explosive, torn fuzz: the Percolator responds directly to your playing style and attack.

With only three knobs and one switch, the pedal offers an almost unlimited sound palette. HARMONICS controls the input gain from light overdrive to full fuzz destruction. BIAS controls the bias of the gain circuit, achieving smooth drive, pseudo-octave fuzz, and gated Velcro-fuzz tones. BALANCE determines the final output level. The DRIVE/FUZZ toggle engages the clipping diodes for heavy fuzz, or disengages them for a raw, organic transistor drive with a chewy, gritty texture.

For those who want to experiment further, there is an internal trimpot that can amplify the sub-octave effect, along with additional gain for massive distortion with deep rumble.

The pedal is equipped with True Bypass and a footswitch with both latching and momentary operation: a normal click switches to latching, while holding it down provides a temporary fuzz burst that immediately switches back as soon as you release it.
