Hohmann: Practical Violin Method 2 is the second volume of Christian Heinrich Hohmann's five-part Practical Violin Method. The method is intended for young and beginning violinists who want to systematically expand their basic technique.
This second volume, designated as the Second Course, focuses on exercises in the simplest keys. The student continues to build finger security, intonation, rhythmic control, and fluent playing, while the exercises gradually increase in difficulty.
The edition includes one violin part; a teacher's part is also included for a number of exercises. This makes the book suitable for individual violin lessons as well as for targeted home study.
Published by Carl Fischer. Catalog number O287, ISBN 9780825808890, 36 pages.
Table of Contents: exercises in simple keys, technical studies for the left hand and bow, short melodic exercises, and selected exercises with teacher's part.
