Cittaslow is an international network of over 220 municipalities across 30 countries. The member towns are places where people are curious about the past, where a rich variety of theatres, squares, cafes, restaurants, and spiritual sites can be found, with unspoiled landscapes and engaging artisans, where people still recognize the slow pace of the seasons and respect their authentic products, true taste, and health. The Hymn of Cittaslow, commissioned by this organization, is entirely inspired by this idea. The tempo is, of course, 'slow,' and the themes are recognizable. The music exudes tranquility on one hand, but also sounds grand in its lyricism, reflecting the beauty of the Cittaslow municipalities.
