Julius Fucik: Marinarella (Harmonie). With the concert overture Marinarella, the Czech composer Julius Fucik takes us to an imaginary seaside resort on a beautiful spring day. Marinarella, a girl of the sea, accompanies us on our stroll. Strolling couples on the boulevard, the sound of the sea, snatches of a waltz melody from a café and a brass band giving a promenade concert pass by. The form of this overture is simple: after a fast and loud opening, a slow, unconstrained section follows, incorporating some solo passages. The ending is again powerful and fast.
