Marco Putz: Then Thy Words Will Take Wing ...then your words will grow wings"...then your words will take wing..." is a four-part composition based on four drawings by the Belarusian painter Zinovii Tolkatchev (1903-1970). During the liberation of the Auschwitz and Majdanek concentration camps, Tolkatchev served as a draughtsman in the Red Army. After the war, Tolkatchev's drawings were published in album form and are currently traveling the world, on display at exhibitions. The composition is a tribute to all the nameless victims of the Holocaust and also refers back to the main idea of Yad Vashem, the Holocaust memorial in Jerusalem.
