The NUX NCH-4 Ukiyo-E Chorus is a compact effects pedal featuring three different chorus models: ST Chorus, SCH-1, and CE-1. These models range from a wide stereo chorus to warm vintage modulation and an almost rotating Leslie effect.

Modern DSP technology emulates the behavior of classic BBD chorus circuits. This allows the pedal to combine a warm analog character with a wide dynamic range and low noise.

ST Chorus for a wide stereo sound

The ST Chorus delivers a full, spatial modulation that truly shines with clean chords and wide stereo parts. The sound remains clear and defined, even with more intense settings.

The internal tone control is carefully tuned, ensuring solid lows and preventing high frequencies from becoming harsh. This makes the chorus easily adaptable to various amplifier and effects setups.

SCH-1 from subtle chorus to Leslie effect

The SCH-1 model is based on a beloved vintage analog chorus. This mode can be set from a subtle, transparent modulation to a distinct rotating effect reminiscent of a Leslie speaker.

This makes this mode suitable for subtle thickening of the guitar signal, atmospheric arpeggios, and pronounced vintage modulation.

CE-1 for warm vintage modulation

The CE-1 mode offers a rich, warm chorus sound with a soft and musical character. This sound is well-suited for jazz, soul, pop, and classic clean guitar tones.

With controls for speed, width, and intensity, you can precisely tailor the modulation to your playing style. A dedicated switch allows you to quickly switch between the three chorus models.

Smart Tap Tempo and stereo connections

Smart Tap Tempo allows the modulation speed to be set with the footswitch during play. Rhythmic subdivisions enable precise synchronization of the chorus's movement with the music's tempo.

The Ukiyo-E supports both mono and stereo via 6.35 mm TRS cables. Stereo operation creates an extra wide and spacious chorus image. The USB-C connection is for firmware updates via a computer.
