Three characterful delays in one compact pedal
The NUX NDD-3 Edge Delay offers three different delay tones in a compact enclosure. You can choose from Phi Digital Delay, Analog Delay, and Tape Echo. This provides a tonal range from clear, detailed repetitions to warm analog repeats and atmospheric vintage tape echo.
The delay types are easy to select, while the controls remain straightforward. This makes the pedal suitable for subtle spaciousness, rhythmic delay patterns, wide solos, and experimental feedback effects.
Phi Digital Delay for musical repetitions
The Phi Digital Delay uses a second repeat head based on the golden ratio. This creates musical, layered repetitions that provide more depth than a conventional digital delay.
This mode delivers a clear and precise reproduction of the original guitar signal. This makes it suitable for rhythmic parts, modern lead tones, and situations where every repetition needs to remain clearly audible.
Warm Analog Delay and vintage Tape Echo
The Analog Delay is inspired by classic BBD delay circuits. The repetitions gradually become warmer and darker, allowing them to naturally recede behind the direct guitar signal. This sound works particularly well for melodic solos and atmospheric chord passages.
The Tape Echo emulates the character of a traditional tape echo machine. High frequencies are slightly saturated, low tones gradually fade, and subtle modulation adds movement. By quickly turning the time control back, self-oscillating feedback effects are also possible.
Smart Tap Tempo and rhythmic subdivisions
Smart Tap Tempo allows you to set the delay speed during play using the footswitch. Press the footswitch twice at the desired tempo, and the pedal automatically adjusts the delay time.
The selected rhythmic subdivision determines how the repetitions relate to the tapped tempo. This makes it easy to create even, rhythmic, or dotted-eighth delay patterns. The maximum delay time is 1500 milliseconds.
Stereo, trails, and high-quality signal processing
Despite its compact size, the Edge Delay supports stereo input and stereo output via TRS cables. The analog dry signal is preserved for low noise and virtually no latency in the direct signal.
You can choose between true bypass and buffered bypass. In buffered bypass mode, the delay repetitions can naturally fade out after the effect is switched off. The USB-C connection is for future firmware updates via a computer.
