Two analog overdrives in one pedal

The NUX Queen of Tone NDO-6 combines two separately switchable overdrive circuits in one compact housing. On the left side is the transparent Horseman overdrive, while the right side contains the dynamic, low-gain Morning Star drive.

Both effects can be used individually or simultaneously. Stacking the circuits creates a wide tonal range: from a subtle volume boost and light breakup to a powerful overdrive for rhythm parts and solos.

Horseman with Gold and Silver modes

The Horseman circuit is based on a transparent overdrive design that largely preserves the original character of the guitar and amplifier. The Output, Treble, and Gain controls determine the output level, brightness, and amount of overdrive.

The standard Gold mode delivers an open and transparent overdrive. By holding down the left footswitch for one second, you activate the Silver mode. This setting offers more gain and additional headroom for a more powerful, pronounced sound.

Morning Star with extra Shine

The Morning Star circuit delivers a dynamic low-gain overdrive with an immediate attack response. Drive, Tone, and Level controls adjust the amount of overdrive, tone color, and output volume.

By holding down the right footswitch, you activate the Shine mode. This function adds a bright treble boost, making chords cut through better and giving solo parts extra definition.

Determine the order of the overdrives yourself

The routing switch allows you to determine which overdrive circuit comes first in the chain. You can choose between Morning Star to Horseman or Horseman to Morning Star. Since the order affects gain, compression, and clarity, you can create various stacked overdrive sounds with this feature.

For example, use the Morning Star to drive the Horseman harder, or place the Horseman first to boost and shape the input signal of the Morning Star.

Input FET Stage and switchable bypass

The Input FET Stage increases the input signal and helps push a tube amplifier towards natural breakup. This function is particularly useful when you want to get more dynamics, harmonics, and response from a lightly overdriven amplifier.

The NDO-6 offers both true bypass and buffered bypass. True bypass routes the signal directly when the effects are off. The buffer mode helps reduce high-frequency loss with long cables or extensive pedalboards.

Connection for external control

A suitable external footswitch, such as the optional NUX NMP-2, can be connected via the EXT SW jack. This allows remote control of pedal functions, offering additional flexibility within larger pedalboard setups.
