P-bass with extra J-element
The Sire Marcus Miller P7 New Gen combines the character of a classic precision bass with the clarity of a jazz bass. The split-coil P-element provides the thick, assertive fundamental tone for which the P-bass is known, while the J-element at the bridge opens up the high end. The North American alder body keeps the whole thing tight and balanced.
Wider nut and stainless steel frets
The neck features the New Gen C-profile with Edgeless™ rounded fretboard edges and 2.4mm stainless steel frets. The nut is slightly wider than on a jazz bass at 42mm, which makes the string spacing at the headstock a bit more generous — pleasant for fingerstyle playing.
Heritage-3 preamp with mini-toggle
The Marcus Heritage-3 preamp controls treble, mid with adjustable mid-frequency, and bass. Unlike the V-models, there is a separate mini-switch for active and passive, so you can switch without your settings changing. All controls are under aluminum knobs.
